x Ruth came in to the hospital with her jaw hanging down and fractured in five places.  The vet thought she was beyond repair but was persuaded to have the jaw wired up.  She was fed liquidised food and despite her disability she fought for recovery.  She ended up with loose teeth at the front and although she was unable to eat everything she never lost her appetite and became a 'celebrity' to delight visitors.  She lived at the sanctuary for a further five years.
